F is for Faith

 F is for Faith

... but I bet you knew I would say that!  After all, this site is called The Faithful Homeschool!  I have written many articles about how I think counting Blessings, bible study, bowing in prayer, Christ/Christian Values, and Eternity are so valuable to education (especially home education!).  Today, I want to approach this differently...

I want to look at some other F's that affect why Faith is so important in homeschooling...

Let's face it, homeschooling isn't for the fainthearted.  We constantly see our own (and our children's) faults and we get frustrated and fixated on them.

Add to our faults how we become so focused on fundamentals and moving forward we forget to put our faith and our functions as a family first.

Before we know it, we are fending off frustration from every corner.  We feel frail, we may even end up fighting with our darling students (and sometimes it spills over to our spouses), and we aren't even fit to teach because we have nearly lost our mind!

For we walk by faith, not by sight.  - 2 Corinthians 5:7

Have faith!  Jesus came because we are all imperfect... no matter what we do, even homeschooling!  No one is faultless.  Everyone fails sometimes.  We fail to plan, or we fail to foresee... we fail to be patient, or we fail to understand.  It is OK!

Focus on Jesus and know that when you fall short, He is there to pick you up and push you forward!

Homeschooling can be fabulous.  It can be fantastic.  Homeschooling can be wonderfully un-forgetable... if we just have FAITH!

And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.  - Luke 17:6

May you have faith the size of your whole being that God will guide you through a fabulous school week this week!

  1. Great post, great words! I think I should have used the word Frustrated, because I feel that way a lot. Praise God we can have Faith in his faithfulness and power and promise to supply our need.
